Modern fashion buyers increasingly ask for “soft like Tencel” or “natural drape” in blouses, dresses and light shirting. Options include Tencel fabric / Tencel-like developments (e.g., “four-imitation Tencel A-head”), modal fabric, modal “xiaomi”, cotton-linen, viscose/rayon blends, and Shule cotton, sometimes combined with cotton polyester spandex or rayon polyester spandex​ for stretch and recovery.

Finishes such as reactive dyed, brushed, solid color or printed​ change handfeel and seasonality. We advise brands to request swatch approval, wash test, pilling and colorfastness data, and to keep in mind that “soft-touch” must still survive bulk production and end-user laundering—especially for fashion fabric, dress fabric and blouse fabric​ at scale
